I love it when designs are subtle but have a definite sense of purpose and style. That’s why I love this logo! I might be the only one, but I didn’t realize that there was a “D” there until I passed it a second time (can we say subtle? Or maybe I wasn’t paying enough attention). It just looked like a danish or something sweet on a plate next to a cup of cappucino. But the second time I saw it (that’s the time I took the picture) I loved it more because it gave me that surprise. So many logos that I see now aren’t really designed, or at least they don’t seem like they took much thought. This logo made me want to take a look inside the shop and see what delicious delights they had to offer. But… They were no longer open for business. Another lesson learned… A great logo, or any great design for that matter, will not necessarily keep you in business, but, considering that I did an online search for them (maybe they had just relocated somewhere else, but there was no sign of them), I’d say that a great logo definitely helps.
